German Institute of Positive Psychology
German Institute of Positive Psychology · 2025

We developed a professional brand identity system for the German Institute of Positive Psychology (GIPP), a research and training institute specializing in positive psychology. Starting from the institute's existing logo concept, we refined and vectorized the mark, established a foundational Corporate Identity Standards (CIS) framework — including color specifications, background usage rules, and application examples — and integrated the updated identity into the institute's website.

GIPP bridges academic research and practical training in positive psychology, serving professionals and individuals across German-speaking regions. The institute had an active website and growing program offerings, but lacked a systematized visual identity — the existing logo had not been developed into a scalable format, and there were no defined standards for color usage, background applications, or cross-media consistency. The challenge was to transform a preliminary logo concept into a cohesive identity framework that could support the institute's professional credibility while reflecting the approachable, human-centered nature of its work.
We identified the Ripple Effect as the guiding concept for the identity — radiating arcs expanding outward from a solid center, symbolizing how personal well-being creates positive change in wider communities. This narrative gave the existing mark a clear conceptual foundation and informed every subsequent decision in the system.

From there, we vectorized the logo for full scalability, defined precise color values (HEX, RGB, CMYK) for digital and print use, and established clear rules for light and dark background applications. The CIS framework was designed to be practical and immediately usable — we prioritized the standards with the most impact on day-to-day consistency, giving the institute a reliable foundation that could be extended as the brand grows. Alongside the identity work, we optimized key sections of the institute's website to ensure the refreshed visual language carried through to their primary digital touchpoint.

The identity system gave GIPP a consistent, professional visual foundation across their website, presentations, and promotional materials. By focusing on essential standards rather than an exhaustive brand manual, we delivered a framework the institute could adopt immediately and extend independently as their programs and visibility continue to grow.
